What is Link Spam

    for example, if you post a useless comment on a Blog and you insert a link back to your site, that is link spam

    People will post comments on Blogs that say something like "nice Blog very useful" and then insert a link back to their site

    Commenting like very nice article, good info etc etc with link back to your site is called link spam.. :D

    A useless comment that doesn't inform anyone and leaving a one way link back to your site for the purpose of moving your site up in the SERPs

    Posting your site link in un related content area or un related site., it will be a Spam link.

    It will not help you any way.

    there are many types of link spam. if you bring links from ffa site, if you do many blog comments, if you bring links from forum signature these type of links are considered as spam links.
