You build page rank by gaining links to your site. People sell links to gain page rank and traffic. Thanks what Link Sales is all about.
Well, to put it simply, a link in this case is a text based advertisement for your site on another site. Some web sites offer listing your site address for free while others charges for it. When they charge you for listing your website address then that would involve them selling a link, ie link sales.
download the google toolbar, if you already have it, click on options to show the page rank... it will show page rank for any site you visit. link sales are usually based around this or traffic.

Link sales is basically selling links on your sites or earning from having links on your site I guess.
