What is Link baiting?

What is link baiting process? and how it works to the site that have been optimize? I want to learn about that. . I am a SEO Teen and a newbie about SEO. Thanks. .

 

Linkbaiting (just like bait for fish) is a method of enticing people to give you a back link. It works great (assuming you have a good and controversial article) on Digg Furl, etc.

Or if you code something cool (the latest, greatest widget), and get people talking about it, that's great bait.

In essence it's viral marketing and can explode your backlinks if you have the right bait. T

 

Right, it is litterally as it says link - bait. Putting free stuff somewhere on your site and marketing it to be free and everyone to come get it is a normal form of link baiting. People will then link your site everywehere to all of their friends and tell them about your free site which in turn is actually creating you tons of free, natural, and great links. Its mostly for links as you will get traffic but little of that traffic will convert.
