    Link bait is where link bait content on your site link with other sites because they want to, not because you asking.with link bait, you “bait” your content and sit back and wait. Of course, you can be a little proactive.Link bait creation falls under the task of link building, and aims to increase the quantity of high-quality, relevant links to a website. You’re not asking them to link to it; they are doing so because they find the content relevant and they want to link to it. .....

    Matt Cutts defines link bait as anything "interesting enough to catch people's attention." Link bait can be an extremely powerful form of marketing as it is viral in nature. The content for link baiting would be a text, image, audio or video clip and it interesting enough to catch the people’s attention.

    Link baiting is a legitimate means to get back links and ultimately traffic to a website. Link baiting is simply generating interest or a compelling reason for someone to link to your site. Two quick examples: (1) allows others to be a guest blogger on your site, and they will likely link to your site; (2) contests that require a blog entry with a link to enter.

    Link bait is content on your site to which other sites link because they want to and thus it creates more links to your site.
