What is link anchor text?

    What is link anchor text? I've recently began reading a couple of webmaster forums and I keep seeing people refer to "link anchor text". Can you tell me what it is so I won't feel like I'm in the dark?

    You should probably read a couple of SEO books first, before asking questions. You can read about the very basic SEO terms from the tutorial in my signature.

    The anchor text of the link is a text of that link. "India tour packages" is the anchor text of your signature link. Is that clear?
