I have been working on my site and I have read a whole lot of articles from various discussion boards, articles from SEO professionals but there seems to be something missing. This is what I know about but I seem to have something missing. I know about having a ton of content, a good keyword density,Have heard 3-7% is the best! H1 and H2 tags, title tags, inbound links, having a older domain, blog postings and also do social networking. The main question is if I do all these things and still can't seem to get ranked in google how do I do manage to do that?
it may be because of competitive keywords and number of backlinks you have. and how many backlinks are accounted for you by google.
I highly recommend you get SEO for firefox. And search your terms on google with it switched on. It will give you a much better idea of what you're up against. Everyone can optimise onsite. But it's get lots of quality, targeted one way links that seperates those who rank well from those that don't. Your question is "if I do all these things and still can't seem to get ranked in google how do I do manage to do that" The answer is, if you had done all the things you have stated and made sure you had a link profile similar or better than your competitiors, there is no reason why you shouldn't rank well.
Agree with the above. First you need to understand your keywords, ensure that you are being realistic with your targets. Second, backlinks. Use Yahoo Site Explorer to look at your competitor's backlinks. It will give you a pretty good idea of what are you up against and ideas of where to get some links from.
First off when it comes to seo believe none of what you hear, and half of what you see. 90% of the articles and answers you read are from people who don't have a clue, they are just repeating what some other ignorant person wrote about. All of that stuff you did is great, but none of it puts traffic on your site. SEO is common sense, search engines want to provide its users with the best results possible. They base their results mostly on popularity, and relevancy. You can put all the relevant content you want on your site, but what a user does once they get to your site is what google is looking at. Sign up for analytics and learn what all the reports mean, and how to improve these results. After you use trial and error, figure out how a search engine works, create a proper advertising budget and use it you will see results.
Ton of content - it has to be quality content. You should interlink all related pages. I believe this is a strong factor in SERPS. Backlinks. Always use keyword phrase in the backlink. One high PR (4+) backlink may worth for thousand of PR0 backlinks. Backlink from the text of inner pages t (e.g. from the post of some blog) of linking site to inner pages of your site (not from footers blogrolls and such). Use keywords in title and H1 tag, yes. If you want to rank in high competitive SERPs, you might want to get some PR. With PR0 or 1 you will hardly rank in competitive environment. Keyword density is rubbish, I believe, but, if your page is related to the keyword, of course you'll have some those keywords here and there. Social bookmarking don't help in SERPs, if they have nofollowed links as they mostly do. They may bring some traffic.
as a professional search engine optimizer optimizing your webpages search engine optimization as far as the discussions on forums and other applications that involve meditating social bookmarking, press release, are targeted visitors repeat to your website and applications over the Internet
