I've heard it in this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=792792 and in others. How exactly do you determine a site's keyword?
There are a number of old school blackhat techniques that no longer work. Examples would be: repeating the same word over and over in the meta tags putting white text on a white background and repeating keywords repeating keywords at the bottom of the page ex. insurance, insurance, insurance repeating keywords in the main text to the point it no longer makes sense repeating keywords over and over in the picture tags Bottom line is, try and use words in your text that you want to rank for, just don't go overboard in doing so.
As above, plus I have also seen stuffing of variations of a major keyword in hope that it will bring all types of searches to the page. Google pick up on them very quickly, a practice best left alone IMO TD
What about if you're providing a list of something, say medical schools, and they have common phrases like "school of medicine", "medical school", "university", etc in their formal names? When listing 50+ schools, this might seem like keyword stuffing when looking at the keyword density....right?

But I think its still working. I saw a blog that has spinned articles and makes no sense at all. Its on the first page of google for keyword free credit cards
After a week of knowing the basics of SEO, i readily thought of keyword stuffing as a means to improve ranking. Of course, I had no idea that it was called "keyword stuffing". I'm just sharing this. D
This is keyword stuffing, This is keyword stuffing This is keyword stuffing, This is keyword stuffing <-- that and similar. A site wont have a keyword, a page will have a keyword/s
Think i've been penalized for this while experimenting with meta tags, 15th April was at google page 1 for a certain keyword (5 used in total), today 21st April down to page69 for same keyword (7 keywords total used). I basically repeated a word or 2 a couple of extra times in the meta description. Places have dropped for other keywords slightly (assuming it's due to using more of them), but nowhere near as drastic as 68 pages in a week.
