What is keyword proximity & prominence

Pleas tell me the what is the keyword proximity & prominence? Why is important in SEO

 

Keyword Prominence Refers to the position of the keyword in our content.To increase keyword prominence place your keyword in the beginning of the page. By increasing your keyword prominence you will achieve:-

1 .Better Rankings
2. Higher crawl rate

Keyword Proximity If you are optimizing our website for keyword phrase which consist two or more word then you must take care of keyword proximity because search engine count keyword proximity into their account while ranking the keyword.

 

I don't understand how keyword prominence affects your SERP rankings and crawl rate?

If you have 4 keywords and all of them are placed in the first paragraph of the article / blog post... In my opinion, it is killing the readability of content instead of making it search engine friendly.

 

Keyword proximity means closeness of two keywords. It is a combination of the compactness of a keyword and its prominence. Proximity takes into account the usage of keyword in a sentence, in terms of number of usage and the distance between two keywords.

 

Search engines give special importance to the words in the page title, and at the beginning of the page, as they consider that the page will explain the basics of what it is about at the beginning.

Obviously you need to have good writing skills. But it is not that complicated. Imagine that you target "Blue widgets", "cozy widgets" and "pink widgets". Start the paragraph for example like this: "Are blue widgets really cozy? Cozy widgets are the latest craze, but blue? I personally prefer pink widgets, but there is a debate ongoing.... ". Etc.

Apart from the first paragraph, you should also place them in the page title, this also enhances the prominence of the keywords. Use also an <H1> header that uses those keywords (at least the most prominent ones) , e.g: "Blue widgets vs pink widgets - what are the most cozy widgets for Christmas?"

I understand that Keyword placement is important, but still I am not convinced with keyword proximity helps in improving crawl rate.

 

basically, keyword proximity and prominence are the number of times and the positions of a particular keyword on a particular page in ratio to the total content of the page.
google ranks a page plus checks for keyword spamming using these techniques. a good knowledge and experiance to place them accordingly can give a good hike to your website for a particular keyword or more.

 

Prominence has to do with places where you have used the keyword and proximity has more to do with spatial relationship among keyword usage within the content

 

Keyword proximity is also important in SEO because google also checks the relationship between the keyword used phrases in content.

 

Its mostly about rankings and the higher your SE rank, the more traffic you get.
