Hi there, I want to know what is meant by keyword density and how to make a keyword balanced in an article. Regards bushib
Keyword density is the percentage of a certain keyword phrase out of all other words on the page, in a nutshell. To calculate it, simply count how many times a certain keyword appears in a set amount of content, divide that by the total amount of words, and convert that to percentage. As for making a keyword balance in an article, my personal rule of thumb is to have that keyword (phrase) appear once per paragraph. I don't really follow a set percentage or anything like that.

I don't measure the keyword density on my article. I just create my article using my targeted keywords in a way that it also give information and can get the attention of my readers.
You may want to spend some time researching LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) as well. It's becoming possible now to rank higher with a low or non-existent keyword density using semantically relevant words and phrases without keyword "stuffing". It also allows you to target a much broader range of words and phrases in all of your content, which makes it far more effective that limiting yourself to a given keyword.
Agreed. An outdated metric at best. With the advances of LSI (and other uber-geekly algorithmic changes that I can only imagine), keyword density is, quite simply, dead.
Keyword density was a term used to say how many times a keyword was used on a page. It used to be advisable to use 2-3% keyword density. For example on a page with 500 words using the keyword 10-15 times was the norm, but as already stated this isn't so effective anymore and a better way to go is to use the LSI route. You can either get a paid version of software or do it manually free from using Googles keyword tool.
