Hi All, 1st of all i want to know about joomla that what is the function of joomla? Is it software or something like word press? Is it easy to make site in joomla and is it easier than wordpress? Regards, WS
I've tried both and they are complex. My employee was having to update everything on my website and begged me for a new solution. Try this company and see if they can give you a demo of their product. webhornet.com I can give you more detail if you would like,,,,just let me know. It's worth a look! Happy Hunting
There is a large learning curve with Joomla. I don't think it has the functionality that Wordpress has since WP has many kinds of plugins that help improve SEO and automated functions like WPRobot. I paid to have a site built using Joomla before I really knew the difference between Wordpress and Joomla. You can find a ton of tutorials on how to use Wordpress, but not much on Joomla. So after I had the Joomla site built, it was horrible trying to learn how to update it.
I'm about trying to use joomla as my coming website platform, base on comment here make me feel horrible to try joomla.
Joomla is designed to be easy to install and set up even if you're not an advanced user. Many Web hosting services offer a single-click install, getting your new site up and running in just a few minutes. as a Web designer or developer, you can quickly build sites for your clients. Then, with a minimal amount of instruction, you can empower your clients to easily manage their own sites themselves What Website type We can make with joomla * Corporate Web sites or portals * Corporate intranets and extranets * Online magazines, newspapers, and publications * E-commerce and online reservations * Government applications * Small business Web sites * Non-profit and organizational Web sites * Community-based portals * School and church Web sites * Personal or family homepages I used joomla for 2 years and very powerfull
Also check out Drupal before you go firm. We switched to Drupal for content and zencart for ecommerce as out two main CMS packages. The range of free addon moduules and templates are superb. Peter
I have been using Joomla for only 2 weeks and have found it to be a little more difficult than wordpress but it is so versatile. Great for combining different websites, for example an ecommerce store with a blog attached.
As you already know, Joomla is a CMS, and in my opinion is more powerful than wordpress (depending on what you want to do with your site). If all you need is a blog, then WP is perfect for you, but if you need an online store joomla will be a good choice.
Joomla is is a pure CMS script, while Wordpress comes between a BLOG / CMS. Wordpress is fast and better SEO out of the box, while joomla is slow and require a lot of SEO improvements. Joomla provides better good looking websites than wordpress. Wordpress has most of the popular plugins free, while joomla plugins becomes proprietary day by day. If this is your first website and you are more concern with SEO than i will recommend wordpress, otherwise if you want more features like E-commerce etc than joomla is better.
Nice sharing mate, anyway I just about to use joomla as my platform for my website (portal) which better wordpress or joomla. I love wordpress but joomla look promising to use.
yes .obviously joomla is very difficult as i know.i have used this joomla ,by this we can design very attractive sites than WP.but very difficult to manage.
I am a big fan of joomla since it was beta. I just moved to wordpress due to SEO Failure in Joomla. Everyone knows that Google Loves Blogs so much, Blogs script has the ability to Ping the Search Engines, Web Directories etc, By doing this they Index so much quickly. Let me give you an example. Suppose you and me running our own websites, You are using joomla and I am using wordpress. If both of us create a New Post with the same news, content at the same time and we also press the submit button at the same time.... What will happened....? According to wordpress Native Pinging support, google bots will jump directly towards the Wordpress site first, after sometime when google bots crawl at joomla site then they found duplicate content. Another major issue with Joomla is that when you install so much plugins then it will get CPU Hungry specially when u install a SEO plugin. Wordpress has become the 1st choice of web masters because it is going to become a Complete CMS package day by day. When i see some wordpress premium themes, I never believe that there is much difference in joomla and Wordpress Look.
