What is ionCube and what is it's purpose.

    Please can someone tell me what this software is used for?

    I've been sent this message from a software company:

    "Up-Load the entire ioncube folder and the contents within it to your root directory for your website. The root directory is the same place where your index.php is located."

    Where will this be located on Joomla?

    I don't no much about programming.

    You can get the loaders from there (the .so files). IonCube is a way of encrypting PHP so it runs normally but the source cannot be viewed or changed.
