I'm doing a little research on what constitutes Internet Marketing. A little history tells that

In simple words, Internet marketing is the use of the Internet to advertise and sell goods and services online. Internet Marketing includes services like:

    • Pay per click advertising
    • Banner ads
    • E-mail marketing and Ezines
    • Blog marketing
    • Affiliate Marketing
    • Article marketing
    • Groups and Forums Postings
    • Search engine marketing and Search Engine Oprimization

What else can be added to the list? Please share. :)

That's a good list. I'd also probably add to that list branding/brand identity. Having a strong brand identity is important and it's good practice to carry this across your promotional activities.

Also with the growth of Web 2.0 social bookmarking and communities are becoming more important. This can be an excellent tool for repeat visitors and content generation when used correctly.

Thanks Matt ! :) I completely forgot about those. I think we can add RSS syndication to the list also.

And news sites like Digg.com are also a good source of Online Marketing. But I'm not sure if this should be added in social bookmarning / communities etc. or should be a part of Linking (SEO)

You're right, quite a few of those fall into several categories, Digg for example can be covered by social bookmarking, link building, RSS and article marketing!

Would that not come under article marketing?

Someone has been reading Wikipedia :)

Next time, you might want to give credit to the proper source instead of "A little history"
