Hubpages, as well as Tumblr are blog extensions...if your topic is popular enough, you could pick up a lot fo increased attention very quickly with these two sites and like club-wp said, don;t forget to add Squidoo to the mix.
Well, hubpages is a bit different from Squidoo. You need to have a popularity of around 50+ to make your links dofollow in hubpages whereas in squidoo, there is no such thing like this.
