What is .htaccess.bkp

    Hi,

    I have 2 .htaccess files, one is .htaccess and the other is .htaccess.bkp

    What is .htaccess.bkp and it is used for something??

    Please advice...

    bkp = backup file. CMIW

    yes i know this but is it a backup of the .htaccess file? Is there any need to keep it?

    its useless ,but better keep it very handy when someone accidently delete main .htaccess

    allways keep backup of .htaccess as .htaccess.bkp

    i hope that helps

    Your hosting company may have taken a backup of your .htaccess files before troubleshooting some issue. If everything is working fine with your website then you can delete it or else download it your local PC as a backup.
