what is hits/pages/visits in web stats

    hello guys can you please tell me what is hits , pages and visits ?

    in my cpanel when i see my stats then it says

    1. Hits = more than 2 millions
    2. Pages = around 900k
    3. VISITS = around 70 k

    pages means page impression , visits means unique visitors but what is the meaning of Hits ???

    can anyone please tell me :D

    ...and I thought hits is not-unique page impressions? lol

    Hits means requests made to your Web site server. The more hits you get the more popular you are.
