Hibernate is a good thing in laptops. Because in this feature you can save your data after shut down your laptops.
when you put a computer into hibernate it take the memory that is stored in the ram and put it on the hard drive, and shuts down everything, that mean nothing will work and it will not use any power. but i don't have option in my laptop. i think it runs in only in old computer machines.
hibernate in computer means: enter a standby state with very low power usage without losing the contents of memory, often by temporarily storing the contents of memory on disk
Hibernate is a power management mode that conserves power by powering down the system. In hibernate mode the current state of the system is saved to the hard drive, and the system will power down. When a user turns the system power back on, the saved information is read from the hard disk, restoring the last used settings. Hibernate mode is similar to sleep mode, however in sleep mode the power cannot be shut off.
Putting the PC into hibernation allows the user to shutdown their computer while preserving the state of most of the ongoing tasks. This also shortens the boot time when the user turns on the PC since the system will just resume to its last state.
It saves your computer's current status to HDD and it goes into a suspended state to save battery. When it wakes up, it just loads your last current state, which is faster than full boot up.
Thanks Mr.HAJUNIK for your nice and clear explanation. Actually if you have clear concept about frog hibernation ,then you will be clear about it. Because of hibernation process a pc can be used as a alarm clock.
