It is actually a power saver option if users want to go AFK or something and don't want to completely turn of the PC. You can set it off for a specific amount of time. Helps a lot really.
It puts your computer into a low power state and saves your information and computer state, works very well most of the time and saves on electricity and battery.
It (Hibernate option) indeed is a great option available. But still hibernation should be used only at emergency situation. Using hibernation, consumes power from the cmos battery and also experts say that the usage of hibernation option produces bad sector in the hard disk drive.
i do it seems fine how long is long for you? because i have left mine in hibernation for a few days and it didn't seem any different
well hibernat is a process which lets you shut down the system with all the setting saved and when you restart the computer it doesnt load all the application which loads under normal reboot hope this helps.
hibernating saves all the current stats of ur computer by saving into a temporary file in ram on ur hdd. when u restart the computer then ur system comes back to the original state as it was before keeping it in hibernation. it sometimes good to shut down immediately but while restarting it takes a lot of load on ur ram so i dont recommend hibernatting the system
It is a state to which the computer is turned on but you aren't using it. During this time the computer is consuming less power than it is normally using.
I never shut off and its always in hibernate and as per windows it is as good as Switch off and its just saving of the current state of PC and then switching it off.
Hibernate is a power management mode that conserves power by powering down the system. The current state of the system is saved to the hard drive, and the system will power down. When a user turns the system power back on, the saved information is read from the hard disk, restoring the last used settings. Hibernate mode is similar to sleep mode, however in sleep mode the power cannot be shut off. Regards
By hibernate computer can store the current data and setting before shutting down and after power on computer all the saved data can be restored. You can see this Tutorial On Enabling Hibernate.
Hibernate is a way to shut down your computer without closing any of your running applications on the computers. The windows will store the current RAM contents and CPU register contents to the hard drive and next time, when the computer is turned on, it simply restores the content that you left when you shut down the PC. Hibernate shut down is as good as normal shut down in terms of power usage. Hibernated PC can be unplugged from the AC mains as usual and does not consume any power at all. However, I recommended to normally restart your PC once a week for the sake of auto-correcting bad settings that are very common in Windows.
