Guest blogging is a great way to build traffic, make sales, and build your "brand." I use a couple of different variations.

    1) Approach webmasters who are in your niche -- but sometimes it's helpful if they are not a DIRECT competitor. So if you have a make money online site, maybe do a guest blog post at a site that sells software that webmasters use or graphics for webmasters, instead of blogging at a make money online type of site. But you CAN try guest blogging at sites that are exactly in your same niche, too. Ask if you can do a free article/blog post for them. Webmasters tend to like "list" type of articles like "10 Ways to Increase Your Weight Loss" or "5 Easy Steps to Learning How to Disco" or whatever. Run several different topics by them and see if they will let you write a post.

    2) This article or blog post you've written will then be posted at some point on that other site's blog, and you should put a nice byline beneath your article with a link back to your site. When people visit that blog and read your article, some will click through and visit your site. It's a great idea to have a "freebie" or a bonus you can give to them when they visit your site -- entice them to click through and visit your site.

    3) Another way to do this is to offer to write an article for another person's newsletter. When they do a mail out to their list, your article will reach lots of new people who wouldn't normally be exposed to your ideas or to your website. Again, be sure to have a byline with a link back to your site at the bottom of that article.

You might have to send out lots of proposal emails to webmasters before you get people to respond to you, so come up with a simple email you can send to lots and lots of people. But after you get the first few friendly webmasters to feature your writing on their site or newsletter, you might be able to do more cross-marketing with them in the future, so it can really pay off. It's also a good idea to have sample articles or sample writing to show those webmasters. This can be material you've already published on your own site. You'll want to show them that you can write.

Guest blogging is a method used by bloggers to increase blog traffic where bloggers write posts to be published on other bloggers' blogs. Guest blogging can work in one of two ways:
You write a post to appear on another person's blog.
Another person writes a post to appear on your blog.

Guest blogging is just that: writing a post on someone else's blog. It's a perfect strategy on today's internet and some of the largest blogs are made exclusively of content from an ever revolving assortment of guest bloggers. These blogs have huge readerships largely in part because they constantly put out extremely quality content from guest bloggers who want the chance to continue writing for that blog and having their content seen by millions of daily readers.
