We all know about the various problems with indexing on G lately. I would have hoped that G had sorted it out by now but obviously not. Now I find that one of my site is not listed AGAIN!!!! Indexed yes but no listed in SERP's. This happened after the last hiccup that G had but it has now happened again! When is one of the big corporates going to take G to court and sue their butts??!!
When is one of the big corporates going to take you to court and sue ur butt for not liking on of your sites. Grow up. You can't sue some one just because you don't like there site or search results!!!
For real, google doesn't have to provide the service to us, they do it for free. It's their service, they'll do what they want.
They don't do it for free, they do it so their shareholders make money, which currently comes from advertising. Their shareholders will not make money if they fail to deliver accurate results and people start using different search engines, and advertisers go elsewhere. They know that and we know that, only question is, do they believe the current system is delivering best results or do they think there is a problem to resolve. The thing that will shake them up is not someone suing them, it is people slowly changing to MSN search or some other alternative and threatening this revenue.
I think MSN is taking speed quite fast; and yahoo again is my 2nd favorite search engine as well so will see
Thank you for your words of wisdom(?) oh mighty king(?). Perhaps posts that are a little less antagonistic and a little more useful would be better for everyone on this forum. So, whilst I continue growing up, may I suggest to you that other replies have quite clearly pointed out that although Google is providing a 'free' service it is, at the moment complete bollox and calling it a service is actually overstating what they are currently providing. A search engine is supposed to provide accurate results to the end user who is looking for a specific item on the internet, I assume? "The search engine allows one to ask for content meeting specific criteria (typically those containing a given word or phrase) and retrieves a list of references that match those criteria". An extract from Wikipedia. Google is NOT providing that information accurately OR consistently. It has nothing to do with Google liking or not liking my site. If that were the case then I would be able to do something about it!! As it stands I can do nothing about it as Google has got some fly up its arse and couldnt even run a tea party let alone a search engine. I for one will be glad when they get their act together and sort out their "#1 Search Engine".
The person who has replaced you in the SERPs has exactly the opposite take on the situation... being happy that your crappy site has been knocked out and his quality site has been promoted. Go figure... Look, I understand being frustrated and upset when things don't go your way, but simply don't put all your eggs in one basket and keep on improving the quality of the sites you have. What else can you do?
Google only has power because we give it to them. If you don't like G, there are many other services that will gladly step in.
Very true Comp71 We do give Google the power because there are plenty of other services we can use to do our searches with? So they are having hiccups...Maybe they arn't hiccups and people are just upset because google is actually taking sites that shouldn't be at the top off of the top!
If Google isn't having problems, they will not be around much longer. My sites go up and down more than Charlie Sheens pants, and it is always a mystery how many pages will be indexed. If I search on Google, I will go all the way to page 10, and sometimes beyond. There are plenty good sites down there that are just getting buried.
And, pray tell, how exactly was your "someone should sue their butts coz they won't give me good rankings, wah wah wah!" post "useful" again? I fail to see how whining about Google stiffing you is "helpful" to the community at large.
Seems that there are a lot of people on the forum who are happy with the way Google simply drops sites that were ranks #1 and #2 for a very specific keyphrase and replaces that site with totally unrelated sites. Oh and then a week later ranks my site #1 and #2 again before dropping it into oblivion. To put it another way............... If your car was running one day and not the next then running fine again would you get just a little upset? Ah yes and today the car appears to be running again. #1 with keyphrase but with a different page and NOT the page that has been optimised for that keyphrase. Go figure!
