I'm very new to the concept of google sandbox. can somebody tell me What is google's sandbox? how do you know that you're in the sandbox? Thanks in advance
Google's Sandbox is a "term" described by Search Engine Optimizationists of whether your website has been declared as cheating Google's algorithm. If your site is found to be cheating Google's algorithm, you will be placed in a sandbox. Being placed in a sandbox, your website will remain "invisible" to people who are searching for your website. Usually, it means that your visitors can find you no matter whatever keywords that you target in your content. Hope this helps. Janice
roshanbh - I've asked many times for a clear, objective way of testing if a certain web page (or site) is "in the sandbox". I've never had a good answer - there always seems to be a strong subjective element to it. e.g. people talk of "low rankings" or a "significant drop in rankings" or "highly competitive keyword". If these things can't be objectively measured and tested, the result is everybody has their own personal, subjective view of what the sandbox is. In effect, everyone is talking about different things! There isn't even a clear view on how long the sandbox is supposed to last - I've seen figures ranging from 2 or 3 months to over a year. If you could test/measure it, the time period would be pretty clear. Until a clear, objective test is defined, I'll remain very sceptical. Howard
the term "Sandbox Effect" applies to the idea that all new websites have their ratings placed in a holding tank until such time is deemed appropriate before a ranking can commence. What is The Google Sandbox Effect?
I am not sure about testing and am eager to know the answer to the primary question. how do you know your site is in sandbox? the only way I know is a significant drop in SERP
no technique for testing website is in sandbox or not.It only assumption if u lost ur SERP result. But new website is in sandbox for max 6 month.
Determining whether or not you are in the sandbox is a relatively easy task to do. First, being placed in the sandbox is different than having your website banned. If you do a search for your domain in Google and they return zero results for your website (and you had been previously listed in Google), there is a chance that you have been banned. One of the best ways to determine if you have been banned is to look at your log files to see if Google is visiting your website. Banned websites typically do not see Google visit their websites, regardless of who is linking to them.
