There is so much talk about Panda in teh SEO world, and I am not sure anyone has their hands around all of it yet. But it is with out question devaluing stes with duplicate content. The new SEO world is all about fresh and original.
It's based on "quality content". My best guess is that many SEO types were just stuffing their content full of keywords... too much so. Natural content written for users has many LSI keywords which are related keywords. For example, dog training might have "puppy", "doggy", "grooming", etc. Real content natural uses these LSI keywords. Many SEO types though were just stuffing their content with keywords at a rate of 5-10%. What I'd recommend instead is being much more natural about what you write and keep it 1-2%. Let Google see your keywords in the titles and then write for a user. That's generally enough "on site SEO" these days.
