All other search engines will die, one of the owners will stand for president, when he wins you will all celebrate with the google dance and drink google gin and juice. Planet google will be born. A terminator from the future will be sent to try and exterminate google but its no use, and from that point google just gets stonger and stronger.
No. Google has evidently lost its way longtime ago. Regular users notice it very slow, but one day will be that Google fade out. I feel like its not far from now.
I think that Yahoo can be a good competitor. I really don't like how Google runs its adsense program. I like Yahoo better as far as the ad program is concerned.
I agree with some of the posts above. There is no company which will remain #1 for a long period of time like that. Google is having its day now, but eventually, they will will slide and become 2nd or 3rd spot. When that day comes, maybe they will rethink their Adsense banning strategy and believe me, they will be scrambling to get back all of those advertisers who they banned when they were so arrogant in the past.
A social network like facebook...probably facebook will develop a web search engine where users...and i mean users because most of the profiles on facebook are actually real...anyways, a social network with an actual web standards whiz...i guess that would limit it to facebook....will create a search engine where real people can give points to particular sites. The weight of those points will be determined probably by the number of that persons real world connections like friends, how old their profile is...basically alot of factors that make them a real person. And the "back links" engine will either die or at least very humbled and the only people who will pay attention to it and wander "what happened" are webmasters focused on seo who run worthless websites. I guess thats the only way i can see google going down.
Google more and more becomes standard of internet culture so that when people heard the words internet the only name that clicks on there head is "google only"
Nice one, James And I think I am going to want some google dancing Friday night, to while the time before the g-terminator bothers to show up...
don't underestimate Bill gate just wait and see msn will outsmart Google in the long run. even Gmail lacks some key basic features.
i sense that search algorithms might depend on social factors too - like up down votes on search results.
