What is Google EMD update ?

    Google EMD update are top up the online business news today.
    I want to know that what is EMD update and how its effective on our site ?

    If some one have knowledge about it Please shear it.

    EMD stands for exact match domain. If your domain is similar to search query then will rank down for your site if your site quality is too low.

    EMD update effects so many of exact domain name website with low quality content. We can recover this by posting new unique content and creating some quality link building, so that google can consider again to rank.

    EMD is exact match domain.

    Before EMD: If 2 websites have the same content/design/links and same TITLE. The website that has its "title keywords" in the domain name would rank better than the other one, that doesn't have its title keywords in its domain name. An example would be a domain like BestWebHostingServices dot biz

    After EMD: Google noticed that its giving EMD sites a bonus that is being abused. So a penalty is now giving to EMD sites with shallow content, which is known as EMD Update.

    Many EMD sites are still ranking high in google, so this means not all EMD sites get the penalty. Unless its a shallow content site, or has no links at all...etc

    Emd is a new algorithm broadly called as exact match domain it targets those websites that have registered keyword rich domains but that doesn't mean you can't have a domain with keywords you can have it but the seo benefit you use to get using such domain will not work anymore according to the data provided by searchengineland it has affected 0.6% of the search results across the globe looks like small number but if you compare it with the billions of domain being registered every year a large numbers of website have been affected by this update verisign and many other domain registrar company have seen their profits going down after this update came as people are showing lesser interest toward keyword rich domains.

    The EMD Update — for “Exact Match Domain” — is a filter Google launched in September 2012 to prevent poor quality sites from ranking well simply because they had words that match search terms in their domain names. When a fresh EMD Update happens, sites that have improved their content may regain good rankings. New sites with poor content — or those previously missed by EMD — may get caught.
