What is Google doing to blogspot?

I have a blogspot blog about boating.

All was going well. The Google page rank is 3 and I have a good variety of inbound links.

When I went to major search engines like Google.com or yahoo.com and typed in searches like “Boating Lake Winnebago” my blog was close to the top.

Then I logged into my blogspot account and was FORCED to create a Google account. You could not update the blog with out doing this. So I did it.

I can think of nothing else that has changed. I am in a web ring but have been since day one. Also, I think web rings are allowed but if I am wrong please tell me.

Shortly after this my site was out off the cache of all search engines.

Even if I copy the full title of my blog and do a Google search the blog does not come up in the search results. However many other sites do, pointing to my blog.

Can anyone please let me know if I did something wrong?

Don't sweat it. I would expect your site will come back again once the dns has updated itself throughout the network and the spiders have revisited your blog.

Updating to the newer version of blogger meant a shift of server - that server has a new address. Sometimes this can take a while to filter through and as a result your blog probably couldn't be found by the spiders. It will resolve itself over time. Don't worry.
