What is "good"?

I know its a gray area subject but when working with adsense what is considered a "good" average cpm for a blog? I know each subject has different payouts, but I do think there is a point in any blog that someone could say "I'm doing a good job" About what would that number be, in your opinion?

I was considering doing a forum but I had seen that they pay on average .0006 cents per unique viewer, or around sixty cents per thousand unique viewers, which is considered quite low.

    Thanks!

Depends on your market niche. Only way to tell is by experimenting, IMHO.

Good or bad is depend on the personal judgment or it is relativity, you need to judge or compare to other.
The average eCPM shall be around $10

eCPM means earnings per 1000 impressions, not visitors. My eCPM is $0.10 for my forum, which I think is beyond crap. I doubt the average is around $10, if that were the case then I'd be looking at $10k instead of $100 in my adsense account.

I think a good eCPM would be $1+ but thats just my opinion.

Good to know the different eCPM's as I don not listen particularly with the eCPM. I know its your earnings per 1000 impression but never try to use it as means of gauging my clicks and earnings. Stupid me...

Well, my "niche" is primarily comedy and I will be running other forms of ads, like blogads. I will also eventually segway that to a normal online store of products, but I'm wondering what is considered "good" on average to make sure I'm not being short changed, because of misplaced or non targeted ads.
