    What kind of question is that?

    It OBVIOUSLY depends.

    A site that is about how to knit wool g-strings would be happy with a 1 billionth rank. The BBC would be pretty pissed off if it dropped to 100th.

    This can be filed in the silly question department...

    myself too was puzzled by its ranking

    cause it showed in lakhs

    and i thought it was visitors no's

    Lol

    the rankings are based on daily no of visitors coming to your site

    i suppose

    Alexa's rank is based on how many visitors come with the Alexa Toolbar installed.

    That explains an awful lot, thanks sholiz.

    I was reading this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=91805&highlight=alexa+ranking earlier and saw that some people were saying that the had hundreds of visitors with a similar ranking to my site, and I'm not getting half the traffic,

    So if people are surfing net without alexa toolbar their visits to the site are not saved;
    anyway Alexa for DP was 188 some time ago;
