I have not found a wikipedia page for "General Marketing". Unless General Marketing refers to the field of Marketing whether it is online or offline, I don't think that I know this concept. Could you give the context in which this term "General Marketing" came up?
General marketing is any on or offline marketing. Marketing itself is getting to know and be part of a distinct market, to start activities to trade in such a set circle of possible sales activities. A market is a set population of possible customers and vendors and each market is bound by their own culture and rule set per branch or industry. That makes a huge difference in HOW to market in and to those branches and industries to be in line with custom habits and conventions how business is conducted. The business can be a trade of services or products from one entity to another, or it can be the advertising and branding, also called marketing, of a company, a goal or cause, a set or group of people, product or services, or the buzz / public relation of an idea (as marketing goal not counting propaganda or political ideas). General marketing is how to build up and run in a market. Themelis Cuiper
There are lots of subforums in the Marketing section of this forum that are focussed on a particular aspect of marketing - the title basically means that this is where you discuss anything that doesn't fit into one of the targetted subforums. Not that tricky really if you think about it. Did you even look at the forum section this user posted in?
