This is confusing to many, as facebook does not explain it well, there are three real possibilities. The question is .. if someone else posts content (eg messages or images) under their 'friends of friends' and I can see it, who else can? (1) their friends + friends of their friends only (2) their friends + friends of their friends + friends of mine (3) their friends + friends of their friends + friends of mine + friends of my friends Remember that they posted it, and not all their friends are in my own friends list. Some people say its 1 or 2 above, others (some websites) say its definately 3, and that facebook is misleading-that this 'friends of friends' option is not very private. So which is it from the above list? I would have added: '4 - friends of theirs + friends of my friends only' '5 - friends of theirs + friends of mine only' but they seemed unlikely, as 4 would be skipping privacy by not including my friends first (only friends OF my friends!), and given the 'friend of friends' name- 5 would be even less likely! LOL Additional details: I know that whether the real answer is 1,2,3,4,5, I can always see this content-obviously! I know my 'privacy' settings in facebook refer mainly to my own actions, so this post assumes I have everything set to default. The bottom line is - I am really trying to find out is if ALL MY friends will see it, even if they are not also their friends? That is what is unclear in facebooks own description. I thought 'no' at first, as there is a 'share' option next to content posted by others that have chosen it to be 'friends of friends' - perhaps 'share' is there, so that I can click and be certain that ALL my friends will see their post too? If thats the case, then my answer should definately be (1) from my list above. So have I answered my own question, or should I believe the websites and users that state almost everyone can see the content? Thanks for any help
