What is fresh?

Now, I assume Google being the clever chaps that they are, would look at a sites /history/ and take into account the intervals between updates and fresh content, and fatham this into their algorythms.

The same for other engines perhaps, I'm sure MSN are big on fresh content at the moment but my query to those with more knowledge: What is fresh?

Is fresh a site that's regulary updated once/week over a long period of time?

Is fresh a site that has a few articles added in a irregular pattern throughout the month?

Is fresh a site that has new articles everyday?

I'm just wondering what best way to add new content to a site I'll be launching soon. I may hold back a few hundred articles and add them on a regular basis instead of just throwing them all up there leaving the site relatively stagnent.

I'm thinking 1 new article per week for each section (27 sections)

Is this 'enough' to keep each section nice and fresh - as each is targetting a specific keyword. The actual www.mydomain.com is irrelevant for rankings really as I'm working to get each section page ranked for their terms.

How do others do it / release content over a period of time?

    Thanks,

    Pete

Fresh contents means the contents should NOT have been copied from anywhere..It should be first time on your website.

Well as for addin' articles to your website, it really doesn't have to be one article per category per week.

Well look at this way. The sooner your articles will be indexed the better.
