you could always do a google search for it ;)
but it's when you fake PR on a url.. like redirecting your url to google for a month or two, will show a pr 9 on your site.

You may also download a google toolbar for your browser and select an option to enable Google PR.

Google toolbar can't tell you whether it's a fake or real PR.

How can people think about that ? Knowing this how could new web sites survive and be found on the net ...

It takes me 2 years going to PR 4 ... back to PR 3 by now cause I change my webname... If any sily webmaster can have a PR9 in a month ... what the use of all those SEO things ? Webmaster should be award that those tricks make bad opinion on all the Web approchal ... As was the Shadowing pages tricks a few years ago wich put discredit on the result of a lot of search engine.

Knowing this trick, I'm happy that I don't thought of using it ... It's a kind of 'Malveillance' as we said in France

If you use a fake PR google wont index any of your content. It will just index the content its redireced to thats giving you your fake PR. And after you stop redirecting, google will then index YOUR content and your PR will drop. So really theres no point in doing it.

You can also try info:websitename.com query on google. If you see info from some other URL then it's a fake (redirected) PR.
