I am planning for 20 fresh articles for a travel sit

What is a reasonable price to pay to the writer for each article?

    Thanks for your opinions.

It depends on how well researched the articles are and how many words per articles.

Are you looking to buy or to sell the articles?
Either way, it all depends on the quality. If you're looking to find someone here to write for you, the more you offer, the more best quality writers will give you a response. Offering less than 0.01/word will likely get you bad articles (unless you find an excellent writer in need of money at all costs). Offering 0.01/word to 0.05/word will get you some quality articles (I guess you should aim for these kind of rates). For more than that, you have to expect the highest standards of quality with SEO benefits from the article.
Usually, you should ask for rates and a sample (most people pays for the sample article of the person that they are hiring if it's on-topic, but most people tends to send off-topic articles of their own but published elsewhere to avoid scams), then you compare everyone's rates and samples and pick the person that better suit your needs.

If the writer delivers quality even though he is not an expert, he deserves $.008 per word. Whereas a writer expert in travel articles deserve thrice the rates (if not more).

It based the experienced and quality of the writer, some rookie price is very cheap, but experienced writer will cost higher for an article.

It depends on the number of words, the quality of article, the number of keywords used in the article etc.

Normally for a 300 word travel article, 5-9 dollars can be payed.

I usually pay about $2-$3 USD for 200 words well-written article..
But all of this rates are depend on the writers offer...so, make a good negotiation!

Do not go less than $0.01/word. Any less and you'll grab the attention of low quality writers who usually have English as their second language.

Depends on who is writing them. Anything above 0.02 per a word should be quality.

depends on whether you want quality work that will attract and retain visitors and traffic or crappy ones that will make yourself cringe. I would say anything from $3-$9 is reasonable for a good writer who produce quality.
