In another thread someone posted about wanting unique content for her blog and this got me wondering about private label right articles. The draw is that you can purchase a pack with approx 10 different articles on the same subject and each pack will only be sold to a limited number of people (example: weight loss article pack limited to 60 packs sold) The prices are pretty reasonable, usually starting around $10 per pack. Still, is sharing these articles with 59 other buyers a good value? Judy
It isn't the best value, but if the supplier really only distributes that many then it isn't that bad... I buy PLR articles but they only go out to 10 people... I know the supplier and trust them... Alot of memberships lie when they say it only goes out to 20 or 50 people, but instead it goes to 500
Hi Judy, If an article is used by only two different sites then there will be duplication of content. To make use of any PLR article you will have to re-write it to the point to where it is completely unique and will be viewed as original. For many people it is just about as easy to come up with the content and write it yourself from scratch. Of course there are those who will take a PLR and 'spin' it with one of the various article spinner programs. These programs will make the articles unique (or that is the intention at least), but practically unfit for a human reader so that, once again, editing and re-writing is required. The bottom line here is that you do not want to use any content on your site that is also used anywhere else (except maybe in very small doses) or you will have your pages cast into the supplemental results.
I have a lot of PLR articles that I haven't used yet. For me it seems just as much work to completely rewrite them as it would be to write an original article in the first place. One advantage is often some of the keyword research has been done in addition to the articles themselves.
Thank you all for your thoughts on this topic. I actually like the idea of taking some of these articles that I have purchased and putting my own spin on them. True it is sometimes easier just to write them myself but I like the idea of having something to work with when I am having a hard time to come up with something creative. Judy
I have a bunch of free PLR articles. I don't use them as they are of course. What I do use them for is the basis of one of my own articles. I rewrite them with a specific keyword in mind and distribute them. I usually do this when I can't think of my own original article to write or I'm too lazy.
If the PLR comes with full rewrite permissions and the writer did a good job getting the "meat," then I'd buy them. If the article is just fluff as most stuff from jr. writers is, then pass.
I gave up on PLR articles for the same reasons kentuckyslone stated. However, they can come in handy for things like ezines or free special reports where the content isn't placed on a web page (i.e. no worries about duplicate content.)
