e-gold is just another online payment processor, but your funds are kept in gold, so if the gold price goes up, so do your funds. I guess you will have to have quite an deposit in there to realy benefit from that though. There are several websites letting you convert between e-currencies but they are usually not cheap.

e-gold is a system similar to paypal, except they allow you to trade in your money for gold once you have enough in, lol. Dont use them however because I dont like them.

So, that kind of exchangers are available? If yes, how do they exchange paypal and e-gold?

A brief illustration would help me start e-gold account.

An Exchanger is someone who just exchange one payment balance for another. It is not as different as if you have paypal funds and I have e-gold funds and I need paypal funds and you need e-gold funds, we just exchange them as in you pay me in paypal, I pay you in e-gold.

Most exchangers would charge you a fees for their service.

    Something like this http://www.exchange-on-line.com/paypalen.html

I recommend you to use bank transfer to fund your e-gold account, because it is safe, I use www.icegold.com to redeem or fund my e-gold account. BTW: e-gold payment processor is number one system for me, because I haven't have any problems with them.

I was going to pay for some items via e-gold, but I had never heard of the payment method before, and upon hearing the only payment methods were WU, and egold, I gave it a miss.

well if you are from UK you can get your egold funded with ease. (not only UK several other countries also)

    www.londongoldexchange.com

They allow credit card payments and then fund your egold account. ALso they take Wire tranfers I guess.

    Hope this help.

PS: Egold is the best payment processor for me.

You can't fund e-gold through paypal. It's a pain in the ass to fund it actually, as you have to go through an exchange. Other than that it's pretty cool.

This should give you a clue

    http://www.e-gold.com/fees.html

It does seems complication but one thing for sure, they will take 1% off your balance as account maintenance every month.

Personally, I will never deal with anyone who just deals with e-gold, the process is too complicating and not having any recourse sure is scary to say the least and the charges for just maintaining a balance. Too difficult for a simple transaction.

Yes, another point I was put off by was the waiting period for funds to clear into the account. This was the same with moneybookers.
The site isn't to hot either, not really looking like an online payment resource.

You got to be careful with e-gold because all transactions are final and it is known to be used by scammers and some shady creatures. Of course not everyone is dishonest but you just have to do your due diligence a little more than usual when dealing with e-gold payments. Then again, yeah the trouble involved may not be worth the effort.
