What is Do/ Dont Follow

I see a lot of posts about dofollow blogs and dont follow. My question is what does it mean?

 

No follow links don't pass PageRank to the pages they are linking to.

 

Yes for Google Pagerank, but other search engines has their own ranking calculation. You can see details on wikipedia: nofollow links

And as example a "nofollow" link is defined this way:
<a href="http://www.site.com/page.html" rel="nofollow">Anchor Text</a>
