I know with window, everything is 64 bit os progarms and so on anything running 32 bit is x86and noted in task manager as running 32 bit. I also know that 32 bit os cannot run on 64 bit os but 64 bit run on 32 bit programm. So what is the functional difference? is 64 bit more secure?
Google works a charm in this question... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/32-bit-and-64-bit-windows#1TC=windows-7 First answer was Microsoft. "The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system."
With a couple of words, 32-bit system works with 4 GB of RAM and less, 64-bit system works with 4 GB of RAM and more. Hence, having more RAM = higher operational speeds.
