This is a good one sentance summation. I find it always helps to design your site and content around the visitor. Put high quality unique content on there. Optimize for your keywords including your meta tags, descriptions, images, etc. Make a good, quality site first and foremost. Off page is hugely important as well. Get high quality links back to your site, and don't just focus on your main page. Link to inner pages too, making sure to target your keywords. This thread already has a ton of useful tips in it, you should be off to a good start. Good luck!

1) Off page means that you do all you can to optimize your website outside the web pages element (off page).
2) On page means that you need to do the SEO on your pages in your websites. How Optimize your keywords, web contents, designs, title tags, meta tags.

 

On Page- Any activity done on the website like web content change, changes in the code, image optimization, url re-writing, anchor text, alt tags, title tags, headings, meta tags etc comes under on page.

Off page- Any activity done to promote the site on different networks like articles sites, blogs, forums, directory submissions, press release, link exchange etc comes under off page

 

On-page SEO ensures that your keywords are in the title, description, and meta keywords, while Off-page SEO makes sure that your backlinks (the links to your site externally) have your keywords

 

On Page Optimization refers to the changes that is done inside a Web page.
such as Title, Keywords,etc....

Off Page Optimization refers to the changes done outside a Web page. (can also say as Promoting your web page)
such as Link building (Internally & Externally)..
Both On Page & Of Page Optimization increases the Page Rank accordingly..

Offline is basically all the backlinks to your website. The more backlinks you have with targeted but varying keywords, from various but related sources, the better.

Off Page SEO is the process of getting other websites to link to yours. This can be by way of link building, press releases, RSS feeds, Article Submission. Social Media on a new way of doing this by creating pages that link to yours.

On the other hand off page SEO generally have their links from the other links which refers back with the help of the key words.This must have quality back links to have a value with relevancy.

 

On page optimization deals with the code and design level change that helps the search engine spiders to index them. On page optimization includes few factors the first one is title tag which shows the main title of the site you see that on the top in internet browser. Title should relevant to the business or website. Second one is Meta Tag includes keywords and description. Keywords as named they are key words of a website.
