What is difference between .co.in & .in domains?

    What is difference between .co.in & .in domains? & what is the role of seo with this kind of domain. I am plaaning to start an advt website for india.

    .co.in = a site about company in india
    .in = a site in india

    For SEO, there are no differences.
    For human point of view, .co.in looks much better than .in for me.

    is that a site targeting only indian visitors? if so then you can sign up with just any you want. usually people register co.in for commercial sites which is a common practice.

    if the site will be targeting global audience, then .com or .net would be better
