Can anyone tell me what is a ddo's attack , my site has been down for two days when i ask my host why, they tell me its a ddo attack , I ask what is a ddo attack their auto respond is "will that be all" they cannot train their monkeys to answer questions. I have signed up with a new company because the last company SUCKS but I can't even get to my cpanel, because of a ddo attack.
A DDoS attack (distributed denial of service) is where someone uses a bunch of zombie computers or routers to flood your server with packets. There are a few different types, but this is just a basic 'what is a DDoS' response. There was a good article in 2600 several years back called 'Tools of the Tools' that was about DDoS attacks. You can probably find it somewhere on the net with a quick google search.

hi most likely they are working on their site they do not always warn clients of this but your site should show up when they finish
While its under attack is there a way for them to back up my site, I have a forum my last backup was three weeks ago.
