what is criteria of alexa page rank

any one plz explain in simply in a few sentence how alexa rank works ?? and is it necessary to count their page rank for site traffic

 

Ranking in Alexa is irrelevant, as the number of real world people who use Alexa for search is practically non existent. Focus on Search Properties people actually use... Google, Yahoo, Bing and to a lesser extent Ask

 

they collect info based on alexa tool bar and give ranking. Its not needed to pay attention much on alexa

basically what the other guys said. it only counts people with the alexa toolbar, which is only the other people who care about alexa rankings.

As others said here, it measures activity based on the users that have the toolbar installed, but I recommend you NOT to neglect all the data there, as the information you will find might be key in reassessing your search engine optimization strategy.

Well alexa ranking can be easily manipulated and get to the higher rank as possible. So I guess this is not so much of an important stuff for any website. It only work if your viewers/readers also have alexa toolbar installed in their computers. So to get the rank closer, you can use the automated free softwares and later ask as many as your friends to download the toolbar and view your site atleast once a day. I am sure your alexa rank will come within 100k

I think alexa uses traffic and backlinks to do their ranking. If you really want to rank high then you need traffic.
