    Hi
The backlinks to our site www.toppopularstore.com has been growing like crazy at average of 1000 backlinks (major search engines) per day according to Checkpagerank .
Now it at hovering around 39,000 to almost 50,000 backlinks
    http://www.checkpagerank.net/index.php?name=toppopularstore.com&links=1

But still at PR1 and predicted at least PR4 (if you believe the PR prediction tools).
So what is considered a good number of backlinks before we can start selling Links on this site?
    Would appreciate any comments/advice.
    Cheers! :)

Well you will have to wait until the x PR update, until you get your new pr, regardless of how many links you get.

If the PR isnt too high, then look at the traffic, if you are gaining around 1k of backlinks per day, then you must have a good amount of traffic, which would be useful, especially to directory owners, so you coul;d sell links for traffic, rather than PR :)

Its not about 'quantity' its all about 'quality' of backlinks. :)

you sure have a lot of interconnected directories... (and that was NOT a compliment)

but anyway, there is no GOOD number of backlinks, each link that brings traffic is good.

I agree with everyone. It's all about quality. You can get a 1000 crappy links and 1 great link and that 1 great link is going to do 10x more for your site than the 1000 crappy ones.

That said though it's probably better to get 50 average to good links instead of 5 GREAT links or 1000 crappy links simply for diversification. If most of your PR/authority is based off of 1 or 2 links things could get ugly if they go away, or in turn lose their trust.

Obviously the best course is to get the 50 average and the 5 great and let the crappy take care of itself but that's not entirely easy.

You can use this free online tool: http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/
with it you can compare your site against other sites on your niche.
To be VERY GOOD on backlinks you need to be brown (player) or grey (Gorilla), but with 50,000 links probably you'll be blue (contender).
Currently I have a site on brown (player) category. :)

there is a really nice piece of software which actually analyzes the backlinks that you have. It shows the outbound links on the page where the link to the site resides. The fewer links you have the better for the page. Some links are not good cause they have tons of links going at them. This basically diminishes the value of any link because it's spread over all of the links.
Quantity is not the key to it after all.

    Thanks everyone for yr comments.
I went into Google Sitemaps and for first time I looked at stats for this site www.toppopularstore.com and it lists some Top 10 keywords ranking in Google

Regular Links -Top 10 Google (out of 130 Million+ results)
Popular Store - Top 10 Google (out of 160 Million+ results)

That should be not bad right. So can I monetise these 2 top keywords or I should wait ?

Any advice will be much appreciated!
    Cheers :)
