I see theres so many opinions on it being posted. How do you consider it... iTrader? Posts? Rep? Join Date? All the above? None of the above and no one is considered trusted? Please state your response and why.
itrader in the first place then REP don't forget to check how big are the deals in itrader ($1 is not like $100)
It can be based on all of your answers. I go by when they join and than I normally will check their post to see what kind of person they appear to be. I also look at iTrader and check on who is giving them iTrader. I have seen scammers with 10-12 iTrader before they start scamming. If you look at what they got feedback for, it will often be lesser trades to try to build positives before scamming. That is where the join date comes in handy. The least I rely on is rep because in honesty, people can give rep for any reason and it does not always show the true character of the person.
for me itrader is the best indication if a member is trusted. Rep and join date comes a close second and third.
iTrader - not if they earn iTraders by some 1 cent deals. Posts - best way. (post quality not quantity) Join Date - ancient people are good. Rep - highly abused, that's why last. - DarkX
All of the above but I think, as Jarodboy will agree, there are certain exceptions to every rule. I always judge someone on their past form and if they've stuffed up in the past they've got to do something absolutely amazing to change my mind (in fact it has never happened). Just like a leopard a scammer doesn't change his spots - however much he might pretend to the contrary.
I know at least one 5k, 1 year+ member who tells more lies than a cheap watch. Post count is no safeguard. Instinct is.
Sure i agree... I said all the above but clearly there are more important things than others. I personally give more weight to the join date, probably cause i've been in DP for such a long time now and i've seen many members grew over here and hardly none of the "oldies" that stick around are scammers. At least if my memory don't play tricks on me.
Ive also heard some true stories from "old people" here on DP that have over 10k posts that said trusted members they thought of here on DP really just scammed for a ton of money. I still say None of the above... Respect will be givin for all those qualities earned, but not trust.
As you should. All of the above listed criteria. After while, you get to know people and can feel more confident.
