What is Cloaking related to SEO.

Can anyone tell me what is cloaking related to SEO?

 

Cloaking is a black hat seo that tricks search engine.

 

Its a deceptive method used to cheat search engines in order to rank well for desired keywords.

 

Can u explain "Cloacking method" ? i dont know about it...

 

This is a technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider/robot is different from that presented to the users browser. This is a “black hat” technique and is not advisable for any website.

 

ok a simple example is Google.com

when you're in UK or Australia, you get redirected to the localized version of .co.uk or co.au

why because there is cloaking/DNS that picks your client IP and then pulls the cloaked version of google page

Cloaking is related to Black Hat SEO Techniques...this is the foolish technique of optimize the site, in this the content visible to user is different from Search Engines...

 

Cloaking is all about making search engine fool by presenting different content what is showing to user. In cloaking technique targeted key word are written in website source page which is not visible to user but it visible to search engine. This method is applied get ranked well in ranking.

 

Here's a simple example of how seo style cloaking works:

You have a cloaked web page on your server. This 'web page' is actually a CGI script which reads the IP address of the requester. It compares the IP address of the requester against a list of IP addresses known to belong to search engine spiders. If a match is found, then the requester is identified as a search engine spider. If no match is found, the requester is identified as a 'human'.

cloaking is a black hat seo technique. By clicking on some link you are redirect to other page which are not related to previous link.

 

In affiliate marketing, you may cloak some of the links.
