I would stick with more proven seo tactics such as building actual useful content.
Clocking refer to the practise of delivering one page to search engine for indexing while serving an entirely different page to the end user. Clocking is often confused with doorway page and clocking. Doorway page are basically poor quality page which is optimized for a specific keyword phrase.Door way page are designed primarily for search engine,not for human being.

one can't say surely that cloaking is black hat or not, this comes under Grey hat SEO, yes doorway pages are black hat SEO, and there is lot of difference between two, there is no misleading in clocking while in doorway pages there is no relation between the page and the website .
