Hi can you answer peoples posts in your own thread or is it classed as bumping? Some people have put answers that can be discussed but Im not sure whether it is allowed to answer them. Thanks Ani
you can answer to other's posts which is the whole idea of a forum. what considered as bumping is that you make useless post in response. for example: "yes, i agree" or "good to know" kind of responses. if you need to respond, then submit comment that will add value to the thread and to the forum readers. another form of bumping would be to post on your own thread with an intention of bumping the thread to the top which is a BIG no no buy sale trade forum has its own rule where you need to PM the seller if you want to buy something or have any question. only post on a BST thread if you can add something that will be useful to other members. any useless post on BST thread will be considered as bumping and will result in a 7 day ban
You will get more info here - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=216611 Bumping thread - Bumping is when you reply to your own thread with the sole purpose of bumping it to the top of the forum. Also, a worthless reply to old threads can also be considered bumping. Your post may be considered bumping even if you are not the "Original Poster". You may receive a bumping infraction for asking people to post if they have submitted, or are interested if they are not needing to discuss your offer. You may receive a bumping infraction for posting "I'm interested" etc even if the OP has directed you to do so. Registering your interest should be by Private Message unless you are adding to the public discussion of the offer. - Digital -
