What is cononical url tag and how it is used for seo need some ideas about it.

This tag we use for the purpose of duplicate content. You can us this tag like this before head close <link rel="canonical" href="http://beagametester.com/" />

 

Canonical tag is use by SEO to avoid content duplication of page in one website. This code <link rel="canonical" href="http://beagametester.com/" /> is use to give hint to bot to know what page is given more honor than other page. It is also avoid deleting page especially if the page is much optimize.

Many websites use both http and https (secured server) for the same page. In such a case to avoid duplication, they use Cannonical statement.
