what is C:\FOUND.xxx folders

    When i am doing a Virus scan i find all this folders but when i try to find them browsing i can not see them?

    Can i delete them and what are they for?

    no they are not hidden they are some back up files or something i only see them when Virus program goes trough them. Even if i take no hidden i can not see them.

    Try to login in safe mode, and then do cd c:\***\
    and delete it.

    The problem i can not longer start my computer in Safe mod it just stop and stays there with everything rolling. I have so many thing wrong in my computer and this thing are creating most of it. I want to know if i can delete them or not? But yeah i think they are some kind of copy or back up that you not need anymore.

    Those are the recovered files and folders which are created by the operating system duing the next system rebook while scanning the files and folders, normally this issue comes when your PC is shutdown suddenly while sudden power off.

    If you have a lot of problems with your computer you may want to just wipe your hard drive and reinstall your OS.

    Remember to save the things you want to keep to disk.

    They normally dont help you in my info, since we cannot restore the files anyway, they are just clusters of the restored files and i guess you can delete them, but again if they are in some tiny kb's or mb's why to take the risk and why not keep them as it is since they would normally be in hidden attribute.

    The problem is that the "fixing" program are finding error in them all the time and it looks like they are the cause of my problem i dont know :(

    Just gone through the first link you gave.. Amit,
    You know what, my computer gets restarted every now and then due to loose contact in UPS cord.
    Its my luck that I still don't get those folder. May be I should fix it tomorrow.
