It is though strange that if a person was to say leave via an adsense link peeps would not consider this a bad bounce rate...

Well said Revelations-Decoder, yes I wondered what you would call the situation when a visitor left the site via affiliate links or any other ads? Would you still call it a bounce? Then how to know which is a 'bad bounce'?

If the visitors visit the site then everything is good for them therefore they will spend their time for while(Therefore calculation of time spend on their site by visitors). Once they dislike the site then they will move away immediately from that site(calculation of time spend less on site are calculated in the terms of bounce rate)once the bounce rate start increasing then your site traffic will not be improved.

Bounce Rate describe your website's opening times. It shows how many times your websites opened by users. 70% bounce rate is seemed good but it has no benefit to your website. when the returning visitors ratio will up to 50% then you can get benefit from 70% bounce rate.

Bounce rate is the percentage of the people come to your website and leave early as they dont find what they are looking for. To decrease the bounce rate we have optimize the website for proper keywords and segment to the target audience.

    There are other factors like,
Increase the speed of your website
    Have proper quality content
Show images which can best suit to the situation/product etc
