It has become common these days for new search engines to be launched on a daily basis but how effective they are in taking the google head on? Only time will tell and let us wait and watch :)

Google doesn't have to do anything because people are already using google as their default search engine. Think about it, it has literally become a common phrase in life "google it"

Bing can't even compare to google, but hopefully that will change. We need to get rid of this monopoly.

No comparision between Google and Bing... Google is way ahead of Bing.

But, Interesting thing is I'm getting more traffic from Bing than Yahoo.
    Google >>> Bing > Yahoo :D

Normally I would say that Google will not worry, because loads of search engines have previously launached without damagaing them, but this time I think that bing will claim a large share and having used it it feels more accurate than google. I get a sense that people are getting fed up with Google's domiance, although I think it will be a gradual takeover by Bing rather than a sudden change. If I was bing i would put most of my advertising revenues into 5 and 6 years olds that use the web as what you grow up with you use. I grew up with Google and have stuck with it.

bing is nothing but a big joke....

Softmicro tried to catch the internet boom after 2 years.. When Mosaic was out Softmicro was still working with Windows 3.11 .Then they developed Internet Explorer way behind the Mozilla project.. Using all of their power they tried to catch Firefox.. But still they are far behind.. When altavista was the king Softmicro had no idea on what is an internet search engine.. They woke up at the year 2000..

Now Google is the king and Softmicro released Bing... Bing? Ding? Dong? wtf.. Softmicro did not invent the internet, they did not contribute to it, they just wanna suck the money out of it..

I miss the days of Archie and Wais.. Good 'ole days without the Softmicro leech...

They will develop more innovative product like they had done before. :) They done on many innovative beside the search engines such as Google Doc, Google Earth, Gmail, Google Wave, etc. Google kept ahead competitor by far not because solely on search engine but the innovative products.

bling is the hot topic of the day, but interest is going to fade. It wont be long and bling will be in the same place that msn was. There is NOTHING for google to worry about or do.

In other words, bling is a fad, and like all fads, interest in it is going to go away.

If you just wait and watch, may be wolfram alpha is going to steal a larger market share of the search engine industry.

Even if BING gets the second position, it has a long way to go near GOOGLE. Google has more than 70% market share. So Google will always be on upper side.

I wouldn't underestimate bing. For me it's already moved up to #7 in my Analytics list of who sends traffic.
