What is better ?

I have a question and I know it isn't cut and dry but is it better to be on the second page of google for a keyword or first page of another search engine ..not sure I can say those in this forum but you know the other two.

Also is there a huge difference from being # 5 on the first page and being # 7,8,9,10

Depending on the search term ranking number in yahoo can bring you more traffic than googles 2nd page.

The problem with this, as with a lot of these statistics, is that the conversion rate at number 1 is often lower. People almost always click the first link, the "I'm feeling lucky" rate, etc. is all going to bump the first link rate. Meanwhile I am not the only one who has seen better conversion rates lower down, at least per person coming to your site, which in turn means per dollar spent on bandwidth.

 

doesn't matter your site #1 page or 2# page, there will be alot traffic when you post what people really really need base on their search.

 

When it comes to a highly competitive keyword, a page 2 ranking can also bring huge volume of traffic.

 

Having your website listed in the second page of google serp may bring you more traffic than the one ranked on the first page of the yahoo serp, imho

 

I'd go for page 2 of google every time

 

I'd say it depends on the search volume for a given keyword.

 

If I could choose I would prefer to have my site on the 2nd page of google.

 

When I search I usually don't go pass page 2.
Page one I'm more likely to hit the websites in 3rd to 5th position for some reason.
