    Hi

I'm planning to start a new blog. I'm wondering what is better in term of SEO, Blogger or Wordpress(self hosted)? ;)

    Thanks :)

wordpress is better if you want control over th entire blog, blogger if you want a cheap blog that is gonna end in problems should u end up moving to wordpress in the future.

    hi DP members

I like blogger. Can insert javascript or any script even I sub domain host
Wordpress disable scripting tag, Wordpress also cannot modify CSS unless we self hosted
But If you self hosted Wordpress would be good.

    Thanks.

Whatever you do, always self host. I have 4 Blogger and 4 WordPress blogs. Blogger is less spammy, but WordPress does so much more. SEO comes from having the blog on your own domain.

    Hmmmm....isn't blogger owned by Google?
Will that affect how often Google spiders them?

no, Google still treats it as a website and it doesn't get any special treats (well, maybe it went up a few more points in trust)

I go for Wordpress. It's easy to customize and you can make a lot of modifications according to your preference. I would also suggest that you get proper hosting for your website as opposed to a free blogspot. This way, you can have more control of your site. :D

I like blogger more, as a designer for blogs.

Wordpress if you want traffic, but blogger can be embedded with Ads that makes the blogs rich. :D

    and you cant in wordpress?

if anything WP gives you more freedom then blogger to ad/manipulate ads.

blogger is what you want if you dont want to have to pay for hosting.

Wordpress has all kinds of plugins that make adding advertisements super easy. The adsense deluxe plugin is awesome. All you add is <!--adsense--> in your post wherever you want it to go. How much easier can it get??
